Week 2 - Off We Go
The Crossing
Our crossing this year is from Portsmouth to Santander some six weeks later than usual so although we hoped for benign weather we weren’t optimistic.
Force 11!!
Was what the BBC weather dept. was forcasting for the day of our ferry crossing, the Beaufort Scale description of force 11 being :- Violent Storm. Exceptionally high waves. Very large patches of foam, driven before the wind cover much of the sea surface. Very large amounts of airborne spray severely reduce visibility.
With Sue’s predisposition for seasickness that was the last thing we wanted to hear, but is that what we got? Click HERE to find out.
